Reaching out into the community

When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you? And the King will say, I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me! Matthew 25:39-40

I am so thankful and proud of our See Him staff as they spent last Saturday providing medical and vision screenings to people out in the countryside.  The staff decided not long ago that they wanted as a group to give back to different communities in Haiti by going out one weekend about every couple of months.  This is something they have decided on their own as a way to share the love of Jesus by serving those who have a need.  God has answered our prayers by bringing Spirit-filled, servant-minded people into our See Him family!

21 Families Empowered and Encouraged!

Praise be to God!  This picture of our See Him staff with interns was recently posted on our See Him Instagram page.  It made me so thankful as I realized some of what God has been doing here.  We prayed that God would bring Spirit-filled, servant-minded people to our See Him family and He has done just that. As a result, 21 families represented by the individuals here have been empowered through their employment.  The ripple effect of this into their families may never be fully realized by any of us...parents, children, siblings, others.  This is in addition to the people that our staff are impacting daily in the clinics and/or guesthouse for Christ.  Furthermore, their has been great relational encouragement that has occurred.  These people work together, worship together each morning, dream and plan together, laugh and cry together!  This picture was taken after the staff hosted a going away party for the interns.  These sweet people poured into the lives of the interns and the interns will never forget those priceless times of living briefly side by side with them.

I want all of you who have partnered with us financially and spiritually through prayer to know that you are making a real difference in the lives of real people every day!  We have recently added 2 nurses, a receptionist, a lab tech and an optometrist to our family.  These additions allow us to run the newly constructed onsite lab and Eye Center full time.  We are praying that God will bring people to lead our community development efforts, a full time ophthalmologist and an accountant/office administrator.  We will trust God in the timing as He has been so faithful in the past.

Please join us as we pray together and join us financially as well.  Check out the website for more information on how you can give.  We need your support as we all try to encourage one another to flourish into the people that God created us all to be!

Clear Creek Mobile Medical Team visits EEWSHM

See Him ministries hosted a mobile medical team from Clear Creek church in Chattanooga last week.  Mutual encouragement was the benefit of these two worlds colliding.  God received glory as the hearts of the Haitian people shone brightly and the team helped to share the love of Jesus by providing physical care to many hurting people.  We could not be more thankful for the opportunity to partner with so many to live out the calling that God has place on our hearts to help more and more to See Him!

See Him Ministries Expanding Medical Services

Always be full of joy in the Lord, I say it again - rejoice! - Phlippians 4:4

We are excited to announce that our Medical Clinic has completed installation of a lab!  We are pleased to let you know that we have hired a lab tech, Gesnel Joseph, who has joined our staff as well.  Now, we will be able to provide more complete care without having to send patients somewhere else for lab work while hoping that they complete that part of their care and then return for further workup.

God continues to provide and we are just rejoicing to be a part of what He is doing in this community.  We understand that we can't change all of Haiti but we believe that God has called us at See Him Ministries to do our part to help change the community in which He has placed us.  We are thankful to all of you who have partnered with us and please know and rejoice that He is using your gifts - financial, time, prayer - to further His kingdom!  Little by little, step by step, His love changes us all as we surrender ourselves to His way of living.

Making His Appeal!

So we are Christ's ambassadors;  God is making His appeal through us. - 2 Corinthians 5:20

The See Him clinic docs and nurses volunteered their Saturday to travel to Don Don to participate in a mobile clinic at a local church.  They were able to perform medical screening and eye exams and offer ongoing care at our clinics near Cap for those who might need follow up.  We are so proud of them as this has been one of Dr. Chery's(medical clinic physician) goals from the beginning in order to reach out to surrounding communities.  Our recently hired optometrist, Dr. Jean Paul, was eager to join the group as well.  Dr. Luckson's brother, who recently graduated from medical school, also joined the group. Shout out to Julmice Louis, Director of Operations, for the pics! :)

Seeing Him

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.  And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” - Revelation 7:9-10

Watching these videos reminds me of the day that is coming when we all will stand before God and the Lamb, Jesus, and will be a part of worship that will be shouted out in every language!  What an amazing thing that will be!

These videos display the pictures that I have been dreaming about from the very beginning of this ministry.  The day that one of these sweet people was gifted with sight - once blind but now seeing.  This lady had been unable to see for 7 years.  She could only "see" light and had to be led into the Eye Center by her family. After the surgery, she could see and identify her family members which resulted in her dancing for joy.  She could also now see those who had been caring for her and she hugged and thanked them.  Some of her first words were "Thank you God."

God did it all!  He brought the team, provided the resources, overcame the obstacles, coordinated the timing, restored the vision!  Once blind but now seeing...all of us who participated and now hear these stories cannot help but to See Him!  As this sweet little lady said, "Thank you God" for letting all of us have new vision to see His glory displayed!

Surgery Day - Covered in Prayer!

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. - Matthew 7:7

Our first surgical team successfully completed their first cataract surgery yesterday!  We are SO thankful!  We have looked towards this day for some time now and even with some obstacles that come with working in developing countries, God has shown brightly!  We know that it is only because of His grace and provision that we stand here today celebrating the gift of sight restored to our beautiful Haitian neighbors.  We rejoice in the opportunity to help more and more to See Him!  All praise and glory and honor to the One who alone gives sight, now and forever!

Together....Love for Everyone

Make every effort to respond to God's promises.  Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. - 2 Peter 1:5-7

We are thankful for the shared experiences that God brought to both our American friends who were visiting See Him and our Haitian neighbors these past few days.  They sweated together repairing roofs, laughed and grew closer together while sewing and encouraged each other as they shared God's word together.  The sweetest of times occur together - different(country, culture, language) but the same(vulnerable, willing, gentle, made in God's image, loved by Him).  Pray with us that God will grow the seeds that were planted in all hearts so that He gets all the glory.  He is amazing!

March is Overflowing at See Him Ministries

We are hosting 7 teams this month.  We have just completed our 2nd annual Medical Conference onsite where 37 healthcare providers(physicians, nurses, support staff) were able to obtain continuing medical education credit.  We are in the process of opening a lab in the Medical Clinic whereby we will be able to provide even better care to our medical patients.  The equipment is to be shipped this month.  Dr. Luckson Previl will be working in the Eye Center throughout the entire month of March.

We continue to reach into the community through Soccer With a Purpose as well as other community building efforts. We focus on working with our Haitian neighbors so that all in Haiti may See Him more clearly.  Waiting on God, Fearless to Move, Trusting His Provision!
