EEWSHM Praying and Building 3/25/16

Julmice read Isaiah 53:5-6 - But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.

These words from Isaiah are a comfort as we remember that although we all have "followed our own paths" at one time or another, God made a way for us through Christ to be healed, made whole and set free from our sin. This Easter season gives us the opportunity to be thankful and remember this truth.

The past couple of weeks have been very busy and hectic as our team works to complete the guesthouse. Also, the containers were delivered to the property this week which was a big hurdle cleared as we prepare for a small group to arrive next week to begin going through all of the equipment and furniture for the guesthouse and clinics. Please continue to pray for us as we come towards the end of the construction phase and begin to enter the process of preparing the clinics to be opened in the coming months. We also hope to host our first group the last week in May but we have a ways to go so please keep us in your prayers.

Pray for Julmice and the workers as they continue to labor day in and day out. Pray for their hearts that they will be drawn closer to God as we continue to work together through all of this.

EEWSHM Praying and Building 3/8/16

Julmice read 1 Timothy 4:4-5 - Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.

Thankful for everything that God is doing! The containers have arrived in port in Cap as of Saturday. We are now working on the process of getting them out of port. Please be praying with us that this will go smoothly. Julmice continues to do an amazing job in overseeing all of the work. From the pictures, you can see that the guesthouse construction is moving right along. Please continue to pray for Spirit-filled, servant-minded leaders to join our team on the ground in Haiti. Pray for the community that they will see Him through us.

EEWSHM Praying and Building 2/24/16

Julmice read Philippians 1:11 - May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

As the verse reminds us, any righteous character we might have is only produced by Jesus which then brings glory and praise to God. I am so thankful for those like Julmice and Luckson who because of their life in Christ are a blessing to me. God is so good to bring along those He has purposed for His work in Haiti. We continue to see God at work throughout this process. The packing of the containers and the transportation to Savannah for loading on the ship has all progressed on schedule. The ship is to leave for Cap tomorrow and arrive no later than March 6th. Please continue to pray as we will then begin the process of getting the containers out of port once they arrive.

Also be praying continuously that God will bring Spirit-filled, servant-minded leaders to our team on the ground in Haiti. Pray as we begin to form relationships with our new Haitian neighbors in the neighborhoods around the clinics.

Julmice read Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We are pushing towards the end of construction. The guys are working hard on the guesthouse to have it completed in the next month or so.

Here are some things for which you can be interceding in prayer with us: 1. The process of getting equipment packed in a shipping container to head to Cap Haitien hopefully the first week in March.

  1. That entire process as we will then work to get the containers out of port and to our property for unloading.

  2. We continue to identify Spirit-filled, servant-minded people to join our staff.

  3. The people in the community that we might be an influence on them for Christ.

  4. Preparation for the grand opening - details, timing, involvement of community and city leaders, etc

We are so excited about how God has been at work. In the scripture reference above, we are just humbled to be His witnesses telling people about Him in this part of the world that we have been called to. We cannot wait to see what He has in store for the community and how He will show up.

Waiting on God, Fearless to Move, Trusting His Provision!

EEWSHM Praying and Building 1/28/16

Julmice read Deuteronomy 15:11 - There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

Thankful for how God has been showing Himself through personal interactions as well as in the details of planning and working through this process. Constantly reminded and encouraged by Him to wait on Him and trust His provision and during that to not worry about anything but to pray about everything. He is so faithful!

Pray for Spirit-filled, servant-minded leaders to be brought to the forefront as we begin to assemble the team on the ground in Haiti. Pray for the acquiring, shipping and delivery of equipment in the coming days. Pray for our neighbors in the community as we learn to live together. Pray for His glory to be seen, that all eyes would SEE HIM! Thank you for your commitment to intercede for this ministry day after day. We know the power that is in prayer and are so grateful for how He has been showing up because of it.

Pictures show how we are coming toward the end of the construction in the Eye Center and continuing to work on the guesthouse. Pray for Julmice and the workers as they carry on each day and that He will work in the hearts of the workers as Julmice prays and shares scripture with them daily!

EEWSHM Praying and Building 1/19/16

Julmice read Hebrew 12:28 - Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

The construction on the clinics is almost complete. We are now moving on to completing the guesthouse construction. Please pray and thank God for Julmice and the workers, praying that God will bless them and let them feel His presence in their lives. The board was able to meet this past weekend in Dallas! This time together was profitable both practically and spiritually. We were able to discuss organizational topics as well as spending time in prayer and encouragement. Please continue to intercede on behalf of EEWSHM. We continue to look toward the opening of the clinics by end of first quarter/beginning of 2nd quarter of this year. We have nearly met our goal of $200,000 being just $15,000 short. If you are able to help us with a financial gift, please visit us online for donating information.

EEWSHM Praying and Building 1/13/16

Julmice read Mark 8:34-35 - Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.

Please be praying as we work to assemble our team. We are praying for Spirit-led, servant-minded leaders. Pray for the community as we keep our eyes and hearts open to ways that God will show us to help more to see Him. Pray for the board as we will be meeting this weekend to discuss and pray about the future of the ministry.

EEWSHM Praying and Building 1/6/16

Julmice read 1 Timothy 6:12 - Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

Workers, Nurse Candidate interviews and Community Well Drilling for Every Eye Will See Him ministries. Amazing Story - These workers who we have employed for over a year and a half during construction presented Luckson with a plaque to show their appreciation. Even more special, they all memorized Psalm 23 in French and recited it to him. They didn't have to do either of these things but what an encouragement to us that they took their time and money to express their thankfulness. God is amazing! This may not seem much to you at first, but when you consider they have very little but were willing to pool resources to purchase the plaque and decided together to memorize the Psalm in French(not their native Creole language), you might begin to see the hearts from which these gifts come - hearts undoubtedly touched by the love of God. When I think about what we are trying to accomplish through this ministry in this community, this story epitomizes it! There is nothing greater than watching God work in the hearts of people. He worked through them to be an encouragement to us! They also presented Julmice, our director of Operations and their "boss" for these several months, with a plaque on his birthday! They didn't have to do any of this but they chose to do it. What an encouragement for Julmice who has been sharing scripture and praying with these men and women every morning. Through this, God showed Julmice that his commitment to scripture and prayer have been worthwhile. Humbled and Blessed!

EEWSHM Praying and Building 1/2/16

Julmice read Isaiah 43:19 - For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

I am taking that verse from Isaiah as a promise for this ministry. How exciting to know that God has promised guidance and provision and that He is reminding us how He has already begun! I cannot wait to see what He has for us in the coming days. We are committed to surrendering to Him and following where He leads through the wilderness and the wasteland.

Pray as we complete construction on the clinics, finish construction on the guesthouse, begin to fill our staffing needs (see pics of nurse candidate interviews) and prepare for shipping of equipment in the coming weeks. Pray for the board as we meet and pray together. Pray for the community as we seek to be good neighbors and helping them to See Him. Pray for Luckson as he concludes his time in Haiti. He and Julmice have been working to provide a well in the community. We should have pictures soon. They have been working together to prepare for the final stages of the construction phases. So many examples of God's faithfulness! Waiting on God, Fearless to Move, Trusting His Provision!

EEWSHM Praying and Building 12/16/15

Julmice read Luke 2:15-16 - When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

"See this thing that has happened..." We have been called to help those in Haiti to see Him - to see the thing that has happened: Christ having come so that we might be reconciled. An amazing gift for all who believe and an amazing opportunity to leverage our lives for His purposes in this place.

Please be praying for Julmice as he continues to lead on the ground at See Him. Pray for his protection, for wisdom and for blessing! We are thankful for His desire to live for Christ and to be a "living sacrifice" so that others might come to know Christ. Pray that the seeds that he has planted from God's word would grow in the hearts of those who have heard.

Pray as we continue to develop the property and prepare for the opening of the clinics in God's timing. Pray for Spirit-filled, servant-minded leaders to come our way and to join our team.
